THE BUILT INDUSTRIES NEW AWARDS CEREMONY AND MAJOR NETWORKING EVENT OF THE YEARLaunched by Commercial Media Group, Ireland’s premier multi-platform media group, the CMG Building and Design Awards 2010 recognised success in the building, engineering and architecture professions in 2010 with a focus on best practice, sustainable design and innovation. Over 270 industry professionals attended the ceremony on the 3rd of December at the Four Seasons Hotel Dublin. According to Tony Cantwell, the promoter of the event and CMG’s managing Director: “CMG have attracted senior professionals from all industry disciplines to the CMG Building & Design Awards because I feel they agree with us that as an industry – rather than individual organisations or associations – we must come together more often at an event like this to network, promote our achievements and use this award recognition ceremony as a platform to showcase our world class skills in building and design.” Dublin born Angela Brady, the president elect of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) delivered a keynote address. She spoke of the need and importance of the Irish networking on the International stage and she applauded CMG and the awards for their positive contribution in attracting such an industry wide attendance and for making the event happen.
